With the lifting of the Governor's Stay at Home order, you may be wondering how this will affect library service. The Director and the Board of Trustees have put a lot of thought and research into the formation of a phased interim service/reopening plan. The triggers for moving backward or forward through levels of service are still being worked on. Our goal is to provide as much service as we can reasonably and safely meet, with care, caution and flexibility. Our corner of the world has fared pretty well with the ongoing pandemic, due to the care and caution that everyone has exercised. Great job, Swanzey!
For now, the library will continue curbside service. We have received grant money for tech purposes, and hope to be able to offer outdoor computers soon. Three things will affect when the next change of service will begin: ~The establishment of objective, science-based criteria for movement between levels ~A change in the pandemic landscape, for good or bad ~Our ability to safely meet the reasonable needs of our patrons Please bear with us as we invent a way to safeguard your health and ours, while creatively offering the best library service we can. Please stay in touch, as our plans are flexible and open to change. Call 603-357-0456 or email [email protected] We miss you and hope you are well! MT. ~If the stay-at-home order is lifted 6/1/20, we hope to begin curbside service. ~We are waiting for library-specific research happening now that determines the safe handling of materials. The NH library task force on reopening is also waiting for this info. Until we know the results, we are remaining closed to in-building activities in order to safeguard your health. ~We have applied for a grant to fund the purchase of mobile hot spots and chromebooks so that patrons without internet access can get online. We should know in the next week if we got approval. ~At this point, it seems the Summer Reading Program will be virtual. The State Library is looking into a platform. ~We're in discussion to offer Music & Movement for Littles virtually. ~If you are a patron, and want access to the NH downloadable books service, contact us at [email protected] and we'll get you set up. ~We are working hard behind the scenes and in the library. If you have a question, please ask! [email protected] 'cause we're still here for you. Hope everyone is healthy!
