GREAT NEWS! THANKS TO THE EFFORTS OF YOU AND OUR FABULOUS CAPITAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE, OUR ANTIQUE WINDOWS ARE GETTING REFURBISHED. THANK YOU, ALL! 5/30/20
The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance in collaboration with the 1772 Foundation recently awarded grants to thirteen historic preservation projects throughout the state, amounting to $100,000 in new investment to save important community landmarks. MCUL was awarded a $10,000 matching grant to restore and rehabilitate the building’s historic windows.
MCUL's windows have historical, aesthetic, and ecological value. By adhering to the Secretary of Interior's Standards, the library will ensure that this highly visible exterior aspect of the building respects the 1843 character of the original windows. The rehabilitated windows will help to restore the original appearance of the library. Not least, the repairs will contribute to the energy efficiency of the building, increasing heating and cooling efficiency year-round.
We're hoping to start an emailed library newsletter. If you like to receive it, please give staff the email you'd like used.
