SCROLL DOWN FOR TIMELINE IN REVERSE
April 2024 We moved back in. A few things remain to be done, but we are checking out books and accepting returns.
The building will be painted this summer.

February 2024 The original floorboards, cleaned and planed, being fitted. Old growth wood!
January 2024 New ceiling up, fresh paint, end in sight.
December 2023 Second floor beams, joists and strapping for sheetrock installed. Subflooring installed and original flooring planed offsite.
Thanksgiving week 2023 Second floor joists installed; subflooring installed; new HVAC units delivered; electrical work continuing
Nov 2023 The Director, Trustee Steve Russell, and volunteering friends Scott, Jonah and Gary denailed the original flooring, which is to be reinstalled. Note the box of square nails.
Oct/Nov 2023 New joists were installed and vapor barrier placed.
Oct. 2023 Concrete footings and additional support spans were installed, in addition to other work.
Sept. 2023 Ingram Construction has removed the 1st story floor and taken down the ceiling to access the underside of the 2nd story. Sadly, no treasure was found in the 180 year-old dust under the floors.
Aug. 24 2023 The library is closed to the public. Staff are moving the contents of the original building to clear the way for structural reinforcement of the 1st and 2nd floors, new wiring, and new HVAC, which will begin Sept. 5, 2023. The building will be closed for several months, hopefully reopening at the start of 2024. Click Repair Closure Info for info and answers regarding our arrangements for continued library services for our patrons, as you have some wonderful options.
